"You gain strength, courage, and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. You must do the thing you think you cannot do." ~ Eleanor Roosevelt

This just in!
Apparently, I'm cynical. :) I had mentioned the other day what my friend said and that other friends are 50/50 on whether or not I'm cynical. However, this weekend, we looked up the definition and although a lot of them say "motivated by selfishness" (which I do not believe is me (and if YOU think that's me...don't tell me)), right smack in the middle of the definition it says, "Doubtful as to whether something will happen or is worthwhile." I must say that I'm not usually so skeptical about whether something will happen, but I do often question if the "thing" that's happening would be WORTH happening (if that makes any sense). :) So...I guess I'm a cynic! I'm not so sure how I feel about that, but I guess that I really can't argue it because that's how I feel! My thought process is usually, "Yes, it's fine if you want do that (whatever "that" is), but I really don't know if I think it's worth the energy that goes into making it work!" So there you go! Another mystery solved. :)

I thought it was "Thinking that other people are motivated by selfishness or being doubtful as to their motives." ? Not that you yourself are motivated by selfishness!
I love your blog background! Man. I might even have to give up my plain green and yellow for that!
Leilani, you're right that that is also one of the definitions. Another one says, "based on or reflecting a belief that human conduct is motivated primarily by self-interest" and I took that to mean ME, too. You're right, though, about the defition you posted. It seems like there are a few different definitions for it.
Yeah, this background is very nice, I think! :) I wanted something simple but summery. This background is just one of Blogger's new backgrounds, you know. It's under their new design tab. They have TONS of new backgrounds and you don't have to download different ones from different websites anymore. :)
