Breakfast: Cream of wheat with brown sugar. No milk. :(
Lunch: Potato shredded into hashbrowns. Three Egg Whites. Juice.
Supper: I had a wonderful meal called, "Falling Off the Wagon." It was delicious!! Okay, it wasn't my plan to give up on the low-iodine diet, but it happened. I had a meeting after work for this group I'm involved in at the College and they were bringing in a catered meal. No problem! I'll just decline. I actually PLANNED to avoid it by preparing myself with snacks and such. However, only 8 people showed up (out of a normal 15-20) and it was VERY obvious (and rude!) if I would have said no. So...I had a little bit of it. Besides that, I was really hungry...and had a headache to boot. *sigh* Anyway...it was pot roast with potatoes, carrots and gravy (I tried to scrape off what I could), salad with a little dressing, lemonade. It was good! And tomorrow...back on track! :)

Hang in there....I am thinking of you!
Hey- mix about half (or so) teaspoon of vanilla into the cream of wheat just as you take it off the heat. It does wonders for it! ;)
Can you not get uniodized salt there? Life without salt... whoa. However, if you can use other dried herbs- basil, oregano (my favorites)- they really help things taste better! Go wild with the veggies- I'd be living on them. They really are pretty good. I love the taste of just the plain boiled veggie usually.
Or just get really drunk (no limit on that, looks like) and wake up after it's over.
I didn't really say that and I for sure don't really mean it.
;)
oh yes- and can you do Rice Dream milk? That stuff is pretty good. I wonder what it would taste like in the cream of wheat, for instance.
Ukrn's cook cream of wheat in half water, half milk... so I wonder if you could do that with the Rice milk? Or almond milk? (Is that legal?)
Here's my breakfast suggestion. It's what I have every morning. Cook oatmeal (using water - without salt of course) with fresh fruit (or dried fruit, but you might have to check the labels on that). Strawberries are in season and dried cherries or cranberries are excellent. I don't put sugar in there, but I suppose you could if you wanted. It might be a good change of pace to the cream of wheat.
@Anita B -- You just crack me up!! I laughed and laughed at your first comment! :) I CAN have salt, just not salt with iodine (they DO make uniodized salt here). The problem is that I have to assume that anything processed or anything made in a restaurant is made with iodized salt because it's hard to know WHAT they use. *Le sigh* As for Rice Dream...I used to have that LONG ago, so I know what you're talking about. I'd have to look at the list of ingredients to see what it's made of. You'd be amazed at what is salted. Did you ever think of Gatorade having salt? It does!
@Mel B Marvis -- good idea with the fruit!
