Low Iodine Diet: Day 3

Breakfast: Oatmeal with raisins and brown sugar -- this was quite disappointing. I don't think that oatmeal can be eaten without milk. Period. :)

Lunch: Cream of wheat with brown sugar. Sprite.

Supper: Popcorn with non-iodized salt. Welch's white grape w/ cherry juice (I can have this because it's made with Red Dye #40 (I can't have Red Dye #3)). One hashbrown.

I know that this seems like a bland day, but I seem to have picked up a cold. I feel pretty congested and gross, but what do you do?! Anyway, I was in the mood for warm, comforting foods, so that's just what I had for breakfast and lunch. Now, supper...I just wanted something comforting and this was the best I could come up with. Well, really, pizza was the best, but I am not allowed that comfort food right now. :o)

Hi Jen, thinking about you this week. Hang in there! Are you coming to Dagmar this year??

What!?! How can you say that?! I eat oatmeal 5 times a week without milk. Raisins might be too bland - you need to go with a stronger flavored fruit maybe. Of course, if you have a cold, it probably doesn't matter if you can't taste anything.

can you do almond or coconut milk?

@Cheri...I don't know. I've never thought about it. :) I'd have to look on their list of ingredients before I decided, though. Thanks for the point in that direction!
