It takes a village.

Well, this is Mo & Jen here. It's a dual blog for the moment. (There's a few of us who are trying to convince Mo that life with out a blog...well, it's just not a complete life.)

Anyway, we are going to share a bit of our life with you today. The first image you are going to see is what our "beautiful" town of Laramie had to offer us! No picnics here!!

Because of such a predicament, Mo had to rescue her little gardens. What a task! But this is where the help of the village comes in. :o) Thanks to the help of The Bearded Lineman, she had some very sturdy buckets to use. The Gee-tar playin', Bus Drivin' Dad, who just so happened to be taking a gardening sabbatical this year, provided some lovely walls of water. What luck for Mo!! See...

While Mo was mentally and physically prepping herself for the task of rescuing her garden, lo and behold, there was JEN! What part did she play in the village? Sleeping Bag Provider!!!!! Take a peek!

Alas, all of Mo's hearty plants are covered and all in the village are hoping they will survive the 27 degree temperature that is predicted for tonight. *sigh* Well, that is all for now! Good night and...all together now..."Good luck GARDEN!!!!" :o)

I'm glad to see that there are plant-sensitive people in Laramie to help those little plants try to survive the frozen tundra. :) This reminds me of the Little Red Hen only backwards. So, Mo...when you harvest, make sure you remember all those who helped you along the way. :)

I'm telling you, ladies, move here to the banana belt and you don't have to worry about things like this!!:) You could each be a librarian in our little town (we need a town one and a school one at the moment!)
OK, OK, since that likely isn't going to happen, I am very glad that you keep your priorities right when the weather is cold - getting the plants covered up and all. Hope you enjoyed some hot chocolate after that!
By the way - is that Mo's new grill I see? Wowsers - looks nice!
And, the dual blog is a great idea - keep it up!!:)
Jen, we LOVE your writings - always provides a good chuckle and food for thought.

Morning, I sure hope that Mo's garden survived...did I read that Laramie had a low of 24*? That would be hard on the best covered garden. I put my flowers, tomatoes and peppers "to bed" last night, too. I did see a light frost out this a.m. You two have a great day. Linda

Hey Jen & Mo!
THANKS for the update on the garden covering, life, etc.
Look forward to hopefully seeing you tomorrow eve!
(maybe we'll even get to use the grill?! either that or we'll grill our breakfast steak & eggs there...).
I like the dual blog thing, too, by the way.

How is Mo's garden? :) I remember how excited she was to head home and plant her garden on Memorial Day weekend. Also loved your line about the wisdom teeth...made me laugh that you would rather be shot in the foot! hee hee We are hoping to see you at Chug.

How fun to see Monique's garden! I giggle every time I think of her little plot! I heard you were blessed with snow...I guess that's the fun of living in the higher altitudes!

Well, I'm happy to report that the only casualties in the garden were two cucumber plants and one pepper plant. Everything else made it! I was out there this morning and watered everything. It's a beautiful morning and is supposed to get up to 80 degrees today! Woo-hoo! Warm our chilly bones from the 24 degree temps! *smile*

I remember on June 4th when we moved from Laramie-we got snowed in and there were trees busted all over in the roads! Crazy place!

What a fun post! Thanks Mo and Jen - - it was definitely good for some great entertainment. Also glad that for the most part the garden shall live to see another day.

I remember Laramie's crazy weather, but I was crazy too and thought it was grand to have interesting weather to brag about. For wimps like you, Jen, they make sun lamps. For toughies like me they make snowshoes and stocking caps.
Woo-hoo! Bring on the snow! =)

P.S. I think Mo should have a blog too.

I loved this post...although I'm slow to see it, but appreciate it nonetheless! I'm glad you didn't have many casualties and look forward to seeing the progressive growth! I remember the Laramie weather and wonder how many sleeping bags, water walls, gee-tar players and sabaticals it would take to keep this 'ol gal quiet, happy and ALIVE?! :) LW
