More and more...

...are closing the door! To what? To their blogs! Well, not really, but more folks are making their blogs private, so if their names disappear from my list of blogs on my blog page, then they've probably made their blog private. That means that you'd have to have permission from them to sign in and view their blog. Just FYI. Such is life, huh? :)

Clutter. Moving. Thoughts.

So, this is going to be a bit of a discombobulated post. Because that's just how I feel lately...discombobulated.

I helped a friend move this past weekend. Then, this morning at work, a co-worker was talking about her current house move and going through everything that I just helped my friend out with (only on a smaller scale). All of this has just got me to thinking about "stuff". Literally! Now, I have NO idea what my co-worker's life is like and I know that my friend lives on a college budget (which she does very well with, creatively, by the way!), so I know that her choices of furniture and other things are based on what she can afford but will still look nice and will be enjoyable in her home. Well, in the midst of all of this, I thought about my OWN stuff at my apartment and I got to wondering...how much do I really need? Really, I think that if we shaved things down to the bare bones, I'd find that I really don't need much at all. It's a luxury to have nicer things and to have a lot of it. I think that we all know that. But I got to wondering...is that what I really want my life to be full of? Stuff?

And then, I got to noticing it in other areas of my life...work, my blog, etc. Just clutter. Things that I've collected over time and have just put somewhere for some reason. There are plenty of things that have been gifts from people or have been purchased on trips to other parts of the country/world and they have a great significant meaning. But sometimes I just get to feeling like all of it is just TOO much and I have to purge a bit of it. Usually I toss out the stuff that I haven't looked at or used for a LONG time (no matter how difficult it may be to part with it!) and that helps.

But, again, all of this has just led me to feel like I really don't want my life to be complicated. I want it to be simple and calm and clear of "clutter".

That's all for today.

Summer's Peak

I was headed to the gym after work yesterday afternoon and I couldn't help but notice these gorgeous flowers that are planted in various garden spots across the parking lots. Of course, pictures don't do them justice, but they were breathtaking. I mentioned last night to a friend that I've really been noticing flowers lately, whether they're in people's yards or around campus, and that it just seems like they're brilliant in color and beautiful. (More so than normal!) So, I've decided that we must be in the peak days of summer for things to be so vibrant right now! I hope you can enjoy the beauty like I did!!

Sitemeter is Causing Problems on Blogs!!

Hi all! I was running into issues tonight with error messages! The message said, "Internet Explorer cannot open the Internet Site [enter your blog address here]. Operation aborted." So, I went to Blogger for help and someone suggested removing Sitemeter from your site because that's what was causing the issue. SO...I did that and it worked! Error message gone! It's obviously an issue with Sitemeter and maybe it will go away in a couple of days. I didn't feel like waiting!

I wanted to post this in case YOU were frustrated, too!! Good luck with your "fixing"!!

UPDATE (8/2/08, Noon): Well, when I go to other people's blogs (that have Site Meter), things seem to be fine. However, when I go to the Site Meter website to try and see if they had any messages up, THEIR website is still giving out the error message. Hmmm...maybe I should wait awhile to put my counter back up! What a drag!
